British telecoms group Vodafone has chosen Samsung Electronics as vendor for 5G community gear in Britain, the pair stated on Monday, a breakthrough for the South Korean firm in Europe’s telecoms gear market.

The tieup comes as European cellular operators more and more contemplate Samsung within the race to interchange China’s Huawei as a provider. Monetary phrases weren’t disclosed.

Britain has already ordered all Huawei gear to be faraway from its 5G community by the top of 2027, echoing a U.S. marketing campaign in opposition to Huawei, citing nationwide safety dangers.
