Apple TV+ is adapting considered one of 2019’s finest reviewed novels, Laura Lippman’s Girl within the Lake, and it is lined up two of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s most iconic actresses to star.

Set in Baltimore within the Nineteen Sixties, the sequence will see Portman play a girl named Maddie Schwartz, who delves into the world of investigative journalism to resolve a homicide. It will deliver her into battle with Nyong’o’s character Clea Sherwood, who’s combating for Baltimore’s Black group whereas struggling to supply for her household.

Honey Boy director Alma Har’el can be within the director’s chair for this one, whereas The Man In The Excessive Fort‘s Dre Ryan will assist pen the script. There are host of producers on the sequence, together with Portman, Nyong’o, Lippman and, amongst others, Physician Who alum Julie Gardner.
