About the Site

Internet Service Review looks at the fine print behind the services and devices most U.S. households now live with: streaming subscriptions that renew forever, smart TVs that watch what you watch, cameras and speakers connected to someone else’s cloud, and the AI tools everyone is suddenly typing into.

What we review

  • Subscriptions: what you’re paying for and how to leave.
  • Connected Home: smart TVs, cameras, speakers and other devices.
  • Online Life: VPNs, AI chatbots, scams, digital legacy and old accounts.

How we review

We don’t test or rank individual products. Instead, we read terms of service, privacy policies and settings menus, and we check what the law says using the Federal Trade Commission, the FCC and state consumer protection laws. Each guide ends with a short verdict. Drafts are prepared with help from AI tools and checked against those primary sources before they’re published.

Independence

No company pays us, sends us products or sees our guides before publication, and we don’t use affiliate links.
